Arthroscopic Surgery

Arthroscopic Cartilage Regeneration Facilitating Procedure (ACRFP)

An athroscope is a precision instrument through which the interior of a joint may be closely inspected or operated on. Three or four arthroscopes are used in an arthroscopy, which is a minimally invasive surgical procedure on a joint in which an examination and sometimes treatment of damage is performed using an arthroscope through a small incision.

The arthroscopic surgery for knee OA—the traditional approach

The symptoms of early-stage knee OA can be relieved by medications or physical therapies.
Through the arthroscopy, we might see localized inflamation of synovial membrane, chondromalacia, or fibrosis of cartilage.

In contrast, the ACRFP (arthroscopic cartilage regeneration facilitating procedure) does everything that a traditional arthroscopy does and additionally it also excises and removes the medial plica, which is the cause of knee OA.

Unlike the traditional treatment protocol, the Knee Health Promotion Option, before the knee has been damaged beyond repair, takes active steps to treat the condition. It uses our exclusive ACRFP (arthroscopic cartilage regeneration facilitating procedure) to remove the cause of knee OA and thoroughly cleans up the interior of the knee. The procedure is followed by physical therapy.
This comprehensive treatment, collectively called the KHPO, can stop the knee from degeneration and even lead the cartilage to regrow.

The KHPO includes
*detailed diagnosis examination, evaluation, and health education
*if necessary, the ACRFP
*post-operative physical therapy
